Bosnia 1993
My father, Leigh Rainsley, is a war veteran having served in the Bosnian Conflict 1992-1995 and the Gulf War 1990-1991 for the British Army. Photographs taken by himself on his personal disposal camera during the Bosnian Conflict were the inspiration behind these paintings. I intended to reflect fragments of a distant memory while ensuring enough is revealed to portray a relevant context to the chosen landscapes.
